Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan to develop a cooperation program between Avaza National Tourist Zone and Khorezm region
The website of the state news agency “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” published an article entitled “The prospects for tourism cooperation between the Avaza national tourist zone (NTZ) and Khorezm are being studied”.
The publication reports that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are considering the possibility of developing a cooperation program between the Avaza National Tourist Zone and the Khorezm region. “The initiative was voiced on the sidelines of the 12th session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Tourism of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which ended in Khiva,” the agency writes.
“The Turkmen delegation at the event was headed by the country’s Minister of Culture Atageldy Shamuradov. This cooperation program involves the organization of mutual trips between the Avaza National Tourist Zone and the Khorezm region. The XII session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Tourism of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held on the topic “Sustainable Development of the Tourism Industry”,” the article reports.
It is emphasized that the conference was attended by the OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusraw Naziri, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture Salim al-Malik, ministers of tourism of 57 member countries and representatives of a number of international organizations.
“At the XII session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Tourism, resolutions were adopted aimed at the development of pilgrimage, medical and ecological tourism,” summarizes the news agency “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
