BYD Uzbekistan factory to produce affordable Seagull and E2 models locally
BYD Uzbekistan has reached an agreement with its Chinese partners to produce new car models in Uzbekistan. Specifically, the BYD Seagull and E2 are currently being tested in laboratory settings. Previously, the company's CEO, Shavkatbek Alimov, had promised that models produced in Uzbekistan would be cheaper than imported cars.
BYD Uzbekistan Factory has secured an agreement with its Chinese partners to manufacture new models, Uzavtosanoat JSC reported.
According to the company's statement, the new models planned for production include the BYD Seagull and E2. The first samples of these models are undergoing tests in laboratory settings.
"In order to conduct certification tests for the BYD Seagull and E2 models, these cars have been handed over to the Quality and Safety Testing laboratory complex of the UzTest state institution," the statement said.
For information, production of BYD's Chazor and Song Plus Champion models began at the plant in Jizzakh on June 27 of this year. Following this, the head of "Uzavtosanoat," Ulugbek Roziqulov, announced that agreements had been reached with Chinese partners to produce cars in the B, C, and budget segments, with the first samples submitted to laboratories for testing.
Previously, BYD Uzbekistan Factory's CEO, Shavkatbek Alimov, mentioned that BYD models produced in Uzbekistan would be cheaper than those imported.
