Uzbekistan’s military team secures silver at Cambrian Patrol competition in the UK
A team from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defense earned second place at the prestigious international military competition, the Cambrian Patrol, held in the United Kingdom. Participants covered over 70 kilometers while executing combat tasks in simulated chemical and biological threat environments.
The competition took place from October 4-7 in Wales and featured over 100 teams from more than 30 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, France, India, Germany, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Italy, among others.
Each team was required to complete a challenging course that included navigating complex natural and tactical obstacles. Every 8-10 kilometers, participants were tested with combat tasks such as operating under chemical and biological threat conditions, executing attack operations, and finding their way through difficult terrains.
Uzbekistan’s team excelled in their group, finishing first among 13 teams by skillfully maneuvering through contaminated zones and showcasing tactical prowess in combat operations. They completed the course among the leading teams and secured the silver medal overall.
British military experts praised the Uzbek team's high level of preparation, recognizing their professionalism and exceptional skills in accomplishing the mission objectives.
The Cambrian Patrol has been held annually for 60 years and is considered one of the most demanding military competitions in the world. It tests military units’ combat skills and endurance under realistic battle conditions. The event requires participants to complete a 70-kilometer course within 48 hours, executing multiple military maneuvers and patrol duties in Wales’s rugged terrain, including mountains and marshlands.
Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defense team has a strong track record in the competition, winning first place in 2019 and securing second place in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
