UAE planning to recruit experienced drivers from Uzbekistan
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is planning to hire drivers from Uzbekistan, following a 2023 agreement recognizing the mutual validity of driver’s licenses between the two countries.
The recruitment initiative was discussed during a recent meeting between the leadership of Uzbekistan's embassy in the UAE and Mahdi Mohamad, DULSCO Group COO.
The discussions highlighted the extensive reforms underway in Uzbekistan, including efforts to attract foreign investment, establish new businesses, create additional employment opportunities, and facilitate legal overseas employment for citizens of Uzbekistan. Representatives provided details on recruiting agencies active in Uzbekistan, underscoring the country’s commitment to supporting structured, lawful migration for work.
Mahdi Mohamad expressed strong interest in the Uzbek labor market and confirmed Dubai’s readiness to collaborate on employing Uzbek nationals in the UAE. He noted that the bilateral agreement on driver’s license recognition presents a valuable opportunity to employ experienced drivers from Uzbekistan in the UAE.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to draft and sign a cooperation agreement between Uzbekistan’s relevant agencies and Dubai’s Recruitment Business Group. This agreement will focus on recruiting skilled professionals from Uzbekistan to work in the UAE.
