Supreme Court: 4,934 people released from custody in courtrooms in 10 months

Between January and October, courts issued acquittals for over 600 individuals.

In Uzbekistan, nearly 5,000 people were released from custody directly in the courtroom over a 10-month period, according to a statement from the press secretary of the Supreme Court, Aziz Obidov.

The report includes key statistics on the courts' activities from January to October of this year. During this time, 603 individuals were acquitted, while 1,289 received sentences without the imposition of punishment.

Furthermore, 10,866 criminal cases were dismissed due to reconciliation between the parties involved. Charges were dropped for 5,603 people due to their unfounded nature.

Over the 10 months, 8,041 people had their charges reclassified to reflect their actual guilt, and 4,934 individuals were released from custody in the courtroom.

Additionally, 27,302 people were conditionally released from their sentences, and 9,547 individuals had their sentences replaced with lighter penalties.
