The accord marks another milestone in Uzbekistan’s efforts to become a member of the global trade body. Pitfield expressed confidence that WTO membership would significantly enhance Uzbekistan’s trade and investment opportunities, stating, “We look forward to welcoming Uzbekistan into the multilateral trading system.”

With this agreement, the number of countries supporting Uzbekistan’s WTO accession has risen to 25. In recent months, Tashkent has signed similar protocols with major economies, including the United States, China, the Philippines, and El Salvador. Additionally, countries like Israel, Brazil, and Sri Lanka have expressed their support this year.

The agreement with Thailand is expected to bolster trade relations between the two countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
