Uzbekistan seeks Franco-Uzbek collaboration in growing IT sector
Uzbekistan's burgeoning IT sector now employs over 100,000 individuals, according to data revealed during a presentation at the country’s embassy in France.
The event, titled "Harmonizing Public-Private Partnerships to Explore Trends and Opportunities in Information Systems, Databases, and Artificial Intelligence", showcased Uzbekistan’s advancements in information and communication technologies (ICT).
The presentation, organized in collaboration with France’s Bek Advisory company and IT Park Uzbekistan, brought together academic representatives, IT professionals, and French industry experts.
During the event, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to France, Nodir Ganiev, highlighted the significant strides made in the ICT sector under the government’s development initiatives. Over the past five years, the number of telecommunications and IT companies in the country has nearly doubled, with more than 12,000 ICT enterprises operating in 2023 alone.
Oybek Sodikov, Director of Bek Advisory, underscored the remarkable growth of Uzbekistan’s ICT sector, which has become a key pillar of the nation’s strategy to modernize its economy and enhance global competitiveness.
