Afghanistan's power supply restored with resumption of imports from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has confirmed that electricity imports from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have been fully restored following the resolution of technical issues and storm-related disruptions.

Earlier, DABS, Afghanistan’s power distributor, informed that power supply to several provinces had been temporarily suspended due to strong winds and technical setbacks, which halted electricity imports from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. As a result, many regions were plunged into darkness.

Following the resolution of these issues, DABS confirmed that regular power supply has now been restored to regions including Kabul, Balkh, Samangan, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Nangarhar, Laghman, Paktia, Logar, Khost, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, and Baghlan.

Afghanistan relies heavily on electricity imports from neighboring countries like Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran to meet its energy demands.
