Egypt resumes hepatitis C medication supplies to Uzbekistan

On December 14, a new shipment of the hepatitis C medication Sofosbuvir-400mg was delivered to Uzbekistan as part of humanitarian aid from the Egyptian government.

The shipment, transported by Uzbekistan Airways from Sharm El-Sheikh to Tashkent, is the eighth consignment of its kind, containing 7,200 units of Sofosbuvir-400mg.

The medicines will be distributed to patients at the Institute of Virology under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. 

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Egyptian government will provide a total of 800,000 units (approximately 40 tons) of Daclatasvir, Sofosbuvir, and Entecavir against hepatitis C, valued at $4.2 million.

To date, a total of 13.4 tons of these medications, amounting to $1.461 million, have been gradually sent to the country.
