Senate approves state budget for 2025
Senators have approved the law on the state budget. The consolidated budget has been formulated with revenues amounting to 431 trillion UZS and expenditures of 480.5 trillion UZS, resulting in a deficit of 49.5 trillion UZS or 3 percent of GDP.
At the second plenary session of the Senate, the law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025" was discussed.
It was noted that, taking into account economic conditions, inflation in 2025 is projected to be around 7 percent.
In particular, the law stipulates that the consolidated budget deficit should not exceed 3 percent of GDP in the medium term. Based on this principle, the consolidated budget revenues for 2025 have been set at 431 trillion UZS, and expenditures at 480.5 trillion UZS.
State budget revenues are planned at 308.5 trillion UZS, while expenditures are set at 344.8 trillion UZS. Revenues and expenditures of state target funds (excluding inter-budgetary transfers) are projected at 66.4 trillion UZS and 62.8 trillion UZS, respectively.
The law ensures that the socially-oriented nature of expenditures is maintained, with 52 percent of state budget expenditures, or 177.7 trillion UZS, allocated to the social sector.
For 2025, the state budget expenditures include 3.6 trillion UZS for environmental protection activities. Additionally, 41.3 trillion UZS will be allocated to the healthcare sector, which is 19.8 percent more compared to the expected implementation for 2024.
At the end of the discussions, the law was approved by the senators.
