There are no cases of Zika virus in Uzbekistan

Deputy chief of Directorate general of sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of health Dilorom Tursunova:
– Zika - propagative virus, carried by mosquitoes, which was first found in rhesus monkeys in Uganda in 1947 in the framework of the monitoring network for forest form of yellow fever. Then, in 1952, it was diagnosed in men in Uganda and Tanzania. Outbreaks of the disease caused by this virus have been registered in Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific.
In European countries, there are cases of importing the disease. Uzbekistan pays close attention to the protection of public health. Carry out preventive measures to prevent the introduction and spread of especially dangerous infections in the country. All international airports, railway stations and customs posts installed thermal imaging for the early detection of patients at border crossings.
The disease is caused by a virus Zika, it refers to the vector-borne viral infection that is transmitted by the bite of mosquitoes Aedesaegypti found in tropical regions.
To date, in the territory of Uzbekistan cases of importing of the disease by Zika have not been recorded.
