Starting from August 19, the banks in Uzbekistan have raised the purchase rate of foreign currencies. Over the past three days, the dollar exchange rate in banks has grown by at least 100 soums. Currently, the purchase price of 1 US dollar is 9100-9170 soums and the sale is 9200 soums, Spot writes.

The American currency is also growing on the Uzbekistan Republican Currency Exchange (URCE). On August 16, 1 USD was worth 9084 soums on the URCE, which is 23 soums more than it was on August 15. The trade volume reached $123 million.

Last week, the Central Bank updated the exchange rates of foreign currencies. Then, the US dollar increased in value by 179.00 soums and reached the mark of 9061.00 soums, the euro grew by 163.84 soums, and amounted to 10092.14 soums.

It should be recalled that on August 9, after the first collapse of the soum, the Central Bank commented on the situation and warned that the exchange rate might begin to change more often, as the regulator is switching to a new exchange rate fluctuation policy.
