Mirziyoyev discusses state border protection issues with security officials

Today, August 27, a working consultation, chaired by the President of Uzbekistan, was held to improve the system of protection of the state border, the presidential press service reports.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the Presidential Administration, the apparatus of the Presidential Security Council, the State Security Service, as well as the command of the SSS Border Troops. During the event, practical results of the activities of Border Troops were considered, priority tasks were identified for further improving the system of protection of the state border in the context of modern challenges and threats to international and regional security.

It is noted that reliable and guaranteed security and inviolability of borders is a guarantee of tranquility of the people, prosperity of the country.

“We note with satisfaction the progressive dynamics of international cooperation between the border agencies of the countries in the region, successful implementation of joint activities with various international organizations. Opening of checkpoints, new air, rail and road communications with neighboring states contributes to the growth of mutual trips of citizens,” the press service said.

The need was emphasized for ensuring tight control over the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached with foreign partners to enhance cross-border cooperation.

During the meeting, the work done was evaluated from a critical point of view and specific instructions were given to the heads of the responsible structures to further improve the efficiency of the state border protection system.
