Analysts say Uzbekistan’s entry into EAEU will affect meat prices
Specialists of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) presented the first results of a study to assess the consequences of a possible entry of Uzbekistan into the EAEU by industry sectors.
It should be recalled that since November last year, the CERR has been conducting a study to assess the consequences of a possible entry of Uzbekistan into the EAEU.
Experts of the Center said that domestic producers of cattle and poultry meat will have access to cheaper and better feed from the EAEU countries.
“This will reduce the cost of production and increase the competitiveness of livestock industries in Uzbekistan. The lifting of bans on the import of cattle and meat from the EAEU countries will lead to an increase in their supply in the market of Uzbekistan. There will be an increase in imports of cattle and meat, which will lead to lower domestic prices,” the analysts concluded.
