Experts tell when to expect mass vaccination in Uzbekistan
Anti-Coronavirus Staff member Shukhrat Boymurodov told when mass vaccination for COVID-19 will begin in Uzbekistan.
“It all depends on when the vaccine is developed and becomes available. If the whole world begins to use the vaccine massively, we will follow them,” he said during the press conference at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications.
Earlier, the rector of the Tashkent Medical Academy Laziz Tuychiyev stated that the creation of vaccines is a very difficult process.
“Russia begins vaccination in the autumn. However, this rapidly developed vaccine is used only there. Its results will be available in three to six months. Only after this, we can start using it in Uzbekistan,” he said.
Laziz Tuychiyev stressed that there will be no mass vaccination until 2021.
“The scientists will simply be unable to finish it. However, we should not wait for the vaccine; we should follow all the rules. Thus, we can save ourselves,” he concluded.
Earlier, the WHO announced a schedule for the start of mass vaccination against coronavirus. According to the organization, mass vaccination could begin in mid-2021.
According to the Deputy Head of the World Health Organization, Soumya Swaminathan, more than 20 vaccines are currently undergoing clinical trials. There is a hope that some of them will work.
Soumya Swaminathan clarified that the results could be expected by early next year.
In addition, the WHO stated that no official information is available on the vaccine developed by Russia against coronavirus.
Recently, the Health Minister of Russia Mikhail Murashko stated that the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Federation named after Gamalei completed clinical trials of its vaccine. Another vaccine developed by the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology VECTOR is currently in the stage of clinical research. The Ministry of Health plans to begin mass vaccination in October.
On August 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to study the possibility of vaccinating the population against coronavirus. During the videoconference, Deputy Prime Minister Behzod Musayev was instructed to study the possibilities of purchasing vaccines for the population, consulting with leading scientists and experienced doctors.
