Uzbekistan approves new traffic rules: maximum speed limit to be cut
The government has approved new traffic rules.
The document envisages cutting the maximum speed limit from the current 70 km/h to 60 km/h in Tashkent, Nukus and regional centers.
According to the document, near schools and educational institutions (at a distance of 300 meters) the maximum speed should be under 30 km/h and in residential areas and adjacent territories – under 20 km/h.
In addition, all trucks must move only on the right side of the road with the exception of certain cases established by the SDA.
At night and in conditions of insufficient visibility, cyclists moving on a carriageway without a cycle path must wear a reflective vest or outerwear with reflective elements.
The above changes and additions will come into force on May 1 of the current year.
