SamAuto and Spain’s Rodríguez Lopez Auto are discussing opportunities to organize the production of ambulances in Uzbekistan, Spot reported citing Dunyo IA.

From July 6 to 10, the deputy director of the Samarkand Automobile Plant for production, Khusen Kobilov, and the deputy director for procurement, Bakhodir Kuliyev, visited the city of Ourense for business negotiations.

Top managers of SamAuto got acquainted with the production process of Rodríguez López Auto. They learned the details of the plant and observed the installation cycles of equipment for ambulances and other special vehicles.

Kobilov and Kuliyev also discussed with the executive director of the Spanish company Jose Enrique Rodríguez Jorge the implementation of a joint investment project based on the SamAuto plant.

The parties agreed to study the production of special vehicles on the Isuzu chassis. Steps were outlined for the preparation of technical proposals, as well as further negotiations on the form of cooperation.

Several samples of the chassis will be sent from Uzbekistan to Spain to prepare test versions of cars from Rodríguez López Auto. After testing, it is planned to launch their production in Uzbekistan with the participation of Spanish specialists.

The starting capacity of the assembly shop will be 500-800 cars annually. According to calculations, this will not only cover the internal demand of the Health Ministry, departmental and private clinics, but will also allow exporting medical transport to the CIS countries and South Asia.

Reportedly, this is not the first meeting of the parties. In August 2021, representatives of the Spanish company visited Uzbekistan and held talks with the Health Ministry, Uzavtosanoat and SamAuto.

In May, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave a number of instructions to develop the ambulance system. By 2025, it is planned to completely update the fleets with the replacement of Damas and other obsolete models with modern cars with all the necessary equipment.

For information, Rodríguez López Auto converts vehicles for ambulance, medical and police services. For 30 years, the company has produced over 15 thousand units of special vehicles, and now annually re-equips more than 900 vehicles.
