Shavkat Mirziyoyev lays a wreath at the Islam Karimov Monument

At the commemorative event, surahs from the Holy Quran were recited. Islam Karimov’s life and work, his dreams and aspirations, achievements in ensuring peace and harmony in the country were recalled.

Mirziyoyev emphasized that mentors should be appreciated and always remembered, this would serve as an example for the younger generation.

Representatives of the Oliy Majlis, the presidential administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, and the public of the capital also laid flowers at the monument to the first president.

Similar events were also organized in the cities of Samarkand and Karshi.
