Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructs to create facilities for people in railway and aviation
On September 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the issue of speeding up reforms in the transport sector.
At the meeting, measures were defined in three areas – to dramatically increase the possibility of railway transit, to turn aviation into a convenient, fast and high-quality service sector, and to expand the network of modern highways for international transit cargo.
Within the Strategic Reforms Agency, a special group on the field of transport was created and tasked with developing reasonable proposals. The head of state emphasized that the most important thing is to create facilities for the people.
It was noted that the railway plays an important role in the development of industry and entrepreneurship, and instructions were given to increase the capacity of this system. In particular, it is necessary to make the system financially healthy by bringing in modern electric trains, repairing wagons, and releasing non-performing assets.
In the aviation field, facilities should be increased, airports of Bukhara, Khorezm and Valley regions should be developed, staff qualifications and the quality of services should be improved.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the quality and potential of highways. It is known that design, construction and control functions in this field are concentrated in one organization. As a result, many roads lack quality. Therefore, tasks were given to introduce advanced standards in road construction, to strengthen laboratory work, and to increase the responsibility of contractors.
Also, tasks aimed at expansion of transport infrastructure and digitization of the sector were defined at the meeting.
