Criminal case initiated against ex-khokim of Muzrabot district

The former khokim allowed nepotism in the district and looted state property.

The the Surkhandarya Regional SSS Department initiated a criminal case against the former khokim of Muzrabot district, Erkin Alimov. According to UzA, the former official is accused of committing crimes under Articles 167 (Embezzlement), 205 (Abuse of official power) and 209 (Forgery of official authority) of the Criminal Code.

During the initial investigation, it became known that the ex-khokim allocated 4.2 hectares of land in Muzrabot district with a total value of 1.7 billion soums to his relatives without auctions.

Also, banks in the district granted preferential loans in the amount of 166 billion soums to relatives of Erkin Alimov, and today most of them have become problematic loans. “Currently, appropriate work is being carried out by banking institutions to recover the loan amount of 121 bln. 406 mln. soums, payments of which have not been made on time,” the report reads.

In addition, during the inspection being carried out at “Surkhondaryodonmakhsulotlari” JSC, it was found that 9.6 thousand tons of grain worth 35 billion soums were looted with the participation of the former district head.

For information, Erkin Alimov worked as the head of this organization in 2010-2017. At the moment, allegedly, more than 20 officials of this organization have been involved in the investigation of the criminal case, and they are giving testimony on the illegal actions of the former head of Muzrabot district, and the investigation is ongoing.

It should be recalled that on September 12 of this year, Abdurashid Ismailov replaced Erkin Alimov, who worked as the khokim of Muzrabot district for more than 4 years. At that time, there were rumors on social networks that a criminal case had been opened against Erkin Alimov, but the official authorities did not confirm these reports.
