Fraudsters stole money raised for construction of a mosque in Syrdarya
Recently, the theft of money from bank cards has become more widespread, which may require a prompt and serious tightening of punishment for such crimes. Often, the perpetrators of this are young people or students.
A resident of the city of Yangiyer, Syrdarya region, appealed to law enforcement agencies with a complaint about the theft from his bank card of funds collected for the construction of a cathedral mosque. To do this, he posted an ad in the Telegram messenger to collect donations for these purposes.
One of the “donors”, who introduced himself as a woman from Russia, said that she wanted to donate $150, for which she received card details from a gullible initiator of the fundraiser. Having received this data, the attacker stole all the collected money from the card – 73,400,000 soums.
As a result of the operative-search activities, it turned out that this crime was committed by citizen E.A. (born in 2002) and his accomplice, living in the Sergeli district of Tashkent.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under Article 168 of the Criminal Code, investigative actions are being carried out.
