Uzbekistan to import 300,000 tons of oil and oil products from Kazakhstan in 2023
A number of documents were signed between the Energy Ministers and companies of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, a number of agreements on the development of bilateral cooperation were reached between the Ministries of Energy and companies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the press service of the Energy Ministry reported.
- An agreement worth $150 million on the supply of 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil and oil products to Uzbekistan in 2023. Within the scope of this agreement, work will be carried out to increase the volume of oil supply to 3 million tons per year;
- Agreement worth $9 million on the transit of 300,000 tons of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in 2023;
- Implementation of mutual transit of natural gas, modernization of existing underground gas storages and construction of new ones, as well as development of gas transmission system.
In accordance with the agreement on the implementation of the project on the construction of a modern coal-fired thermal power station with a capacity of up to 2000 MW in Kazakhstan and the delivery of the generated electricity to the consumers of Uzbekistan, the technical and economic basis of the project will be developed in 2023.
In addition, a large-scale project worth $1.3 billion was launched between “Kazfosfat” company and “Uzkimyosanoat” JSC on the production of phosphate and complex mineral fertilizers in the chemical industry.
