“Uzbekistan is a secular state and will remain so” – Shavkat Mirziyoyev

The President announced that the policy of ensuring harmony and solidarity between nationalities and confessions will be consistently continued in the country.

Any radicalization, use of religion for political purposes will never be allowed in Uzbekistan. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this at the meeting dedicated to the results of the referendum on May 8.

“Uzbekistan is a secular state and will remain so in the future. This is the will and firm choice of our people expressed through the referendum!” the President said.
 
It was emphasized that freedom of conscience of every citizen, regardless of nationality, language, religion and social origin; creation of necessary conditions for the free functioning of all religious denominations; the policy of ensuring harmony and solidarity between nationalities and confessions will be consistently continued in our country.

It was noted that any radicalization in the society, use of religion for political purposes will never be allowed.

“From the first day I started working as the president, I always repeat: ‘We have come to serve our people, we must please the people’.

We faced many problems and trials that we did not even imagine when we started the reforms. Together with our people, we are finding solutions to them and solving every issue on the spot.

Because the meaning and main purpose of our updated Constitution is to create suitable conditions for our people to live a prosperous life.

No matter how hard it is to achieve this goal, we will find the necessary funds, if necessary, with a surplus, and use all the possibilities.

Our people are the fairest judge. I am sure that today every person in our country can say that “a positive change is happening in my life”, the President said.
