Historical monuments worth 288 million soums damaged in two regions
Criminal cases have been opened regarding damage to the monuments “Nomsiztepa-3” in the Samarkand region and “Koshkurgantepa” in the Tashkent region.
Employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with the Cultural Heritage Agency, carried out control measures aimed at the protection and preservation of historical monuments.
During the inspections, it turned out that in the Ishtikhan district (Samarkand region), citizen O. T. arbitrarily destroyed 9.6 square meters of the archaeological site “Nomsiztepa-3”, dating back to the IV-VIII centuries. 652 square meters were saved from destruction of the monument.
It was established that in the Bostanlyk district (Tashkent region), local residents damaged 7.4 square meters of the medieval archaeological site “Koshkurgantepa”. As a result of timely prevention of criminal acts, it was possible to preserve 492 square meters of the historical object.
Damage to architectural monuments as a result of illegal actions amounted to 288 million soums.
On the above facts, criminal cases have been initiated and investigative actions are underway.
