Uzbekistan opens honorary consulate in Nagoya
Currently, about 40 honorary consulates of Uzbekistan are operating in various foreign countries.
Uzbekistan has opened an honorary consulate in Nagoya, Japan. At the opening ceremony of the honorary consulate, Hiroyuki Ito, the consultant of the friendship association "Nagoya-Uzbekistan", who was appointed as the honorary consul of Uzbekistan in Nagoya, was solemnly handed over the consular patent.
According to the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Tokyo, representatives of the Japanese side who spoke at the event noted that the newly established honorary consulate of Uzbekistan in Nagoya is one of the practical results of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Nagoya in December 2019.
Tadahiko Ito, Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial Affairs of the lower house of the Japanese Parliament, said that in order to attract more than 500 compatriots and Japanese tourists living in Aichi Prefecture to Uzbekistan, there is a great need to restore the Nagoya-Tashkent air flights and develop charter flights together with the Honorary Consulate.
