Tokayev proposes establishing international organization on Russian language
At the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting in Bishkek, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took the initiative to establish an international organization on the Russian language in the CIS territory.
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, expressed special gratitude to him for the initiative.
According to Tokayev's initiative, a relevant agreement will be signed between the member states, which will define the legal status, goals, and tasks of the new organization. The document will also determine the activities of its bodies.
The main goal of the organization will be to strengthen multi-faceted mutually beneficial cooperation for the support and promotion of the Russian language on the territory of member states.
Expressing his gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the initiative, Putin once again failed to correctly pronounce Tokayev’s name.
