Cold water tariffs to increase in Khorezm region
By the end of the year, it is planned to increase the coverage of residents with a centralized water supply to 90%.
Tariffs for cold water and sewerage services will increase in the Khorezm region from November 3, Uzsuvtaminot said.
New tariffs for cold water:
- for the population – 2,800 soums per cubic meter;
- for public organizations – 5,700 soums per cubic meter;
- for wholesale consumers – 5,700 soums per cubic meter.
Tariffs for sewerage services:
- for the population – 1,550 soums per cubic meter;
- for public organizations – 2,400 soums per cubic meter;
- for wholesale consumers – 2,400 soums per cubic meter.
Over the past five years, the coverage of the population with a centralized water supply in the Khorezm region has increased from 52.1 to 85.5%, and by the end of this year, this figure is planned to increase to 90%.
The region plans to reconstruct the Pitnak water treatment plant with the goal of doubling its capacity to 400 thousand cubic meters. The cost of construction work is estimated at $50 million.
In addition, it is planned to build a new water treatment plant in the Gurlan district, as well as to reconstruct sewer systems in Urgench, Khiva, Pitnak, and Gurlan districts.
In addition, Uzsuvtaminot justified the increase in tariffs by citing electricity payments, wage and tax payments, repaying loans, and the need for funds to repair and modernize the system.
