Explosion at Sergeli warehouse cost 14.5 billion soums

The government commission, in a published statement regarding the preliminary causes of the explosion at a warehouse in the Sergeli district, also provided information on the number of people injured and material damage.

According to the commission, the total number of victims was 163 people, of which 150 received minor injuries and 13 received serious injuries. One teenager died.

24 victims were hospitalized and received the necessary medical and psychological assistance. The remaining 138 people were sent for outpatient treatment. Currently, all affected citizens have been discharged from the hospital.

The Call Center received more than 450 requests via the short number “1205”, which were resolved positively.

Food products were delivered to 400 needy families, and financial assistance was provided to 100 minor children.

As a result of the incident, window frames, doors and roofs of 1,370 apartments in 39 multi-storey buildings and 246 private houses were damaged. The total amount of damage is 14.5 billion soums.

The window frames, doors and facades of secondary school No. 305 (designed for 1,250 places) and kindergarten No. 600 (designed for 720 places) were also damaged.

Currently, contractors are assigned to these facilities, and repair and construction work is underway.

It is noted that after the completion of a comprehensive forensic examination, investigation and court trial, the established amount of damages will be fully recovered from the defendant found guilty in accordance with the law.
