Tashkent hosting 61st WBC Convention
The most important boxing event of the year, the annual Convention of the World Boxing Council in its 61st edition, is taking place in Tashkent
Yesterday, November 13, the opening ceremony of the convention took place at the Hilton Hotel in the capital of Uzbekistan.
The event is being held for the first time in the Central Asian region.
The convention is attended by delegates from about 100 countries, among the invited guests are Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Vasily Lomachenko.
The association's convention is scheduled to conclude on Friday with a fight for the interim WBC flyweight championship. Mexican boxers Carlos Cuadras and Pedro Guevara will fight for this title.
