Train service en route Tashkent-Angren temporarily suspended
Prior to this, train service from Tashkent to Khodjikent was stopped on November 8.
The press service of Uzbekistan Railways reported the temporary suspension of the Tashkent-Angren electric train.
From November 20 to 22, train service on the Tashkent-Angren-Tashkent route is suspended. The decision concerns the trains 6408/6409.
Uztemiryulovchi did not explain the reasons for the temporary cancellation of the train, but apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused.
Also, from November 8, two train trips from Tashkent to Khodjikent were suspended. Uzbekistan Railways explained its decision by modernizing its rolling stock. However, the completion date of the work and the resumption of trips were not disclosed.
In the fall of 2022, Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered the launch of modern electric trains between Tashkent and major cities of the Tashkent region. Shortly, Uzbekistan Railways announced a tender for the purchase of 34 modern electric trains.
In July, the president announced that from 2024, it is planned to launch 10 electric trains on the line between Tashkent and three regional cities – Bekabad, Angren and Khodjikent. At the time of the announcement, the capital’s region was served by four trains.
