Uzbekistan’s energy system to switch to a 24-hour working order from December 1

- This year we allocated 14.5 trillion soums to improve the energy system. All necessary raw materials, goods, and equipment were brought. Now it is necessary for the leaders of the industry to take full responsibility, make a clear plan and guarantee energy supply, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the preparation of the energy system for the winter season.

According to the press service of the head of state, the capacity of the system has been increased based on the anomalous cold that came at the beginning of the year. Internal capabilities have been fully utilized and networks have been modernized. Work was carried out in cooperation with foreign partners. Current issues in institutions, enterprises and residences were studied and resolved.

- This year we allocated 14.5 trillion soums to improve the energy system. All necessary raw materials, goods, and equipment were brought. Now it is necessary for the leaders of the industry to take full responsibility, make a clear plan and guarantee the supply of energy, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

In the past period of this year, 675 megawatts of electric power was put into operation. 100 substations, 11,500 transformers and 34,000 kilometers of networks were renewed across the country.

In order to provide residents and enterprises with natural gas, an additional 5 billion cubic meters of guaranteed gas sources were decided. Sufficient gas reserves have accumulated in underground warehouses.

The President heard the report of officials on guaranteeing the demand for energy resources during cold days.

The Minister of Energy provided information about the work done this year and the created reserve, daily consumption and the goals of its provision.

Reportedly, the energy system will switch to a 24-hour working order from December 1. In the coming months, 8 solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 1,700 megawatts, and a gas turbine with a capacity of 500 megawatts will be commissioned in Sirdarya. Production of 900,000 tons of coal will begin at the Shargun mine in Surkhandarya.

A stock of liquefied gas, fuel oil, transformer, cable and other necessary tools has also been prepared.

The head of state emphasized the importance of stable supply of energy sources, at the same time, ensuring payment discipline. Instructions were given on putting an end to illegal connections, saving energy resources on warm days, depending on the weather.
