Governor’s assistants in Samarkand detained for accepting $1,000 in bribe
They promised to auction the land in the reserve of the administration, to win it and to formalize the cadastral documents.
In an operative event held in cooperation with the Samarkand Regional SSS Department and the Regional DIA, Kh.E. (born in 1990), a resident of the Samarkand city, and works as an assistant governor in one of the mahallas in the Samarkand district, and B.V. (born in 1975), a resident of the Past Dargom district, works as an assistant governor, were caught red-handed, the SSS press service reports.
It was found out that they conspired to auction 3.5 hectares of empty land in the district administration’s reserve, located on the banks of the “Siyob” canal, which flows through the district’s mahalla, and demanded $1,300 from a local citizen in exchange for legalizing the cadastral documents through their acquaintances working in the district administration. The fraudsters were arrested with material evidence while receiving $1,000 in advance.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these persons under the relevant Articles of the Criminal Code, and investigations are being carried out.
