Malaysia to implement a joint investment project in automotive industry in Uzbekistan

During the visit, negotiations were held with company specialists led by Deputy Executive Director of the company Roslan Abdullah.

During the meeting, the Malaysian side was informed about the economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, including about projects implemented in the field of national automotive industry, Uzavtosanoat JSC and its enterprises, types and volumes of cars produced, detailed information was given about the possibilities of producing electric vehicles in our country, as well as the wide opportunities created for investors in the automotive industry.

Representatives of Proton presented a plan for a joint investment project with Uzavtosanoat JSC to produce cars in our country.

During the presentation, the parties exchanged views on the current state of this project and the conditions for its implementation.

During the visit, Uzbek diplomats got acquainted with the work process at the Proton plant, located in the city of Tanjun Malim, and the modern car models produced.

For information, the Malaysian automobile company Proton was founded in 1983. To date, the company has produced 28 types of cars and exported more than 5 million cars to 73 countries. The company currently has factories in Pakistan and Kenya. There are also plans to open factories in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Egypt.
