On January 17, Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the development of tourism business in Uzbekistan, the press service of the head of state reported.

According to one of the initiatives, it is planned to create tourist centers in 12 of the most attractive cities and regions for travelers. Restaurants, cafés, health facilities and swimming pools will operate on their territory around the clock.

In locations with a large number of tourists, it is proposed to open stores of international brands and establish trade in national silks, souvenirs, and jewelry. The list of promising places includes Chimgan, Amirsay, Zaamin and other resorts.

It is planned to reduce tax rates on land and property for businesses operating in tourist centers by 90% by January 1, 2027. In addition, until March 1, 2026, equipment for jewelry making can be exempt from customs duties.

Another program, “Another day in Uzbekistan”, envisages the creation of “tourist rings”. Special routes will be created both at the republican level between the sights of the regions, and at the regional level - between districts and cities.

The third initiative, “Travel every season”, aims to support the travel industry year-round. It is planned to promote ecological, extreme, and health tourism in spring and autumn, water and resort tourism in summer, and ski tourism in winter.

In addition, measures will be taken to develop medical tourism and support traditional crafts. “Tourist envoys” will appear under the Tourism Committee to promote Uzbekistan abroad.

It is planned to allocate preferential loans for the construction of hostels, eco-houses, campsites and camps, as well as swimming pools in hotels. In order to support business, imported equipment for hotels, shopping malls, swimming pools, and water parks will be exempt from duties for 2 years.
