About 80 people died in fire-related incidents in Uzbekistan last year
During 2023, more than 10,000 fire incidents occurred in the country.
In 2023, there were 10,204 fire incidents. It was announced at the Senate meeting.
It is noted that as a result of the fires, 251 citizens were injured, 79 of them died, and 270.4 billion soums of damage was caused to individuals and legal entities.
In 2023 alone, 797 fires occurred in objects belonging to business entities.
“Today, some of our citizens do not know the rules of fire safety, in most cases they ignore these rules and have an irresponsible or superficial approach, as well as the fact that light administrative punishments are prescribed for violations of the law in the current legislation are the main reasons for the occurrence of large fires,” the report reads.
Therefore, the law being discussed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations was developed and submitted to the parliament.
The law will impose administrative responsibility on the Administrative Responsibility Code for the violation of fire safety requirements in forests that led to a fire. When a fire occurs in the housing fund in a way that is not related to the damage to the health of people or the damage or destruction of other people’s property due to the carelessness of individuals or violation of fire safety rules, amendments are being made to exempt such persons from liability.
At the end of the meeting, the relevant decision of the Committee was adopted.
