Statistics Agency: Uzbekistan importing cars mainly from China
In 2023, Uzbekistan imported vehicles from 31 foreign countries, according to the latest data from the Statistics Agency.
China still remains the major supplier of cars to Uzbekistan, the agency noted.
The top countries from which Uzbekistan imported the most vehicles in 2023:
China — 58,076 units;
South Korea — 11,481 units;
United States — 2,210 units;
Hong Kong — 454 units;
Japan — 419 units;
Germany — 228 units;
India — 65 units;
UAE — 64 units;
UK — 49 units;
Other countries contributed to the remaining 158 units.
The statistics reveal a significant dependency on Asian manufacturers, with China and South Korea leading the list, while a smaller but substantial volume of imports also came from traditionally strong automotive industries like those of the United States, Germany, and Japan.
