Natural gas and electricity worth 94.5 billion UZS stolen in January – Uzenergoinspeksiya
Last month, illegal use of electricity and natural gas was detected among 995 consumers.
In January 2024, Uzenergoinspeksiya reported the theft of natural gas and electricity amounting to 94.5 billion soums.
During the control measures carried out in January, it was found that 995 consumers had illegally used energy resources. As a result, 20 million 486 thousand kWh of electricity and 47 million 387 thousand cubic meters of natural gas were stolen. This led to a total damage of 94 billion 542 million soums to the state interests.
Across all regions of the republic, the inspection authorities conducted 24,969 preventive actions. A total of 937 administrative cases were filed related to violations of the rules for using energy resources.
Additionally, control measures have been conducted in 14 state enterprises and institutions concerning energy efficiency, and emergency and technical safety regulations. Supplier companies' operations have been reviewed at 1,540 facilities and 2,565 social sector objects.
Previously, criminal cases had been initiated against individuals in Tashkent and Syrdarya regions for illegally connecting to the electricity and natural gas networks.
