Air pollution in Tashkent exceeds WHO norms by 16 times
The Hydrometeorological Service Agency has presented data on atmospheric air quality measurements in the capital.
On February 13, 2024, according to data from automatic atmospheric air monitoring stations at 8:00 a.m. in Tashkent:
• The concentration of fine particulate matter PM10 was recorded at 94.8 µg/m3, which did not exceed the maximum allowable concentration according to SanPiN 0293-11 (500 µg/m3);
• The concentration of fine particulate matter PM2.5 was 82.3 µg/m3, exceeding the WHO recommended limit by 16.5 times (5 µg/m3);
• The concentration of carbon monoxide CO (emissions from vehicles and industrial enterprises) was 1.3 mg/m3, which did not exceed the MAC (maximum allowable concentration) as per SanPiN 0293-11 (5 mg/m3).
