Energy drinks, carbonated water and salty foods to be prohibited in educational institutions
The President issued an order to develop a draft decision on the introduction of restrictions on the consumption of certain foods and drinks in kindergartens, schools and universities.
The introduction of restrictions on the sale of certain foods and beverages is envisaged in the strategy to ensure food safety and healthy nutrition until 2030. The document was approved by the President’s decision on February 16.
The responsible organizations and agencies were instructed to develop a draft decision to introduce restrictions on the consumption of highly carbonated, colored, sweet and energy drinks in preschool, general education, secondary special, vocational and higher education institutions by the end of 2024.
Restrictions also apply to highly salted processed foods and others.
