Uzbekistan saw substantial rise in private vehicle ownership in 2023

In 2023, the number of passenger vehicles owned by private individuals increased by 362,525 units.

According to the Statistics Agency, as of January 1, 2024, the total number of passenger cars owned by individuals in the republic amounted to 3,759,045.

The breakdown of passenger car ownership by regions:

1. Tashkent – 597,931 units;
2. Samarkand region – 417,165 units;
3. Tashkent region – 414,645 units;
4. Fergana region – 354,858 units;
5. Kashkadarya region – 297,305 units;
6. Andijan region – 271,885 units;
7. Namangan region – 247,032 units;
8. Bukhara region – 241,855 units;
9. Surkhandarya region – 233,675 units;
10. Khorezm region – 226,721 units;
11. Republic of Karakalpakstan – 161,926 units;
12. Jizzakh region – 109,657 units;
13. Navoiy region – 109,274 units;
14. Syrdarya region – 75,116 units.
