Hydrometeorological service issues warnings for avalanche risks in mountainous areas
Due to expected precipitation and changes in air temperature, an avalanche risk has been announced for six regions in Uzbekistan from February 23 to 29.
The Uzhydromet agency has declared the risk of avalanches in six regions of Uzbekistan for the period of February 23 to 29.
The expected precipitation and temperature fluctuations can lead to avalanches in the mountainous areas of the republic, including the following regions:
- Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shahrisabz districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Qumqorgon, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
- Samarkand region: Nurobod, Qoshrobod, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
- Jizzakh region: Bakhmal, Zomin districts;
- Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, Ohangaron districts (Chotqol range mountains);
- Namangan region: Pop district.
Residents, vacationers, and drivers traveling through the mountainous regions are advised to take precautionary measures.
