From February 26, the price of AI-80 gasoline increased by 200 soums and was set at 7,000 soums in the Uzbekneftegaz price lists. According to the company, the price increase is due to the increase in the price of imported gasoline.
Starting from February 26, the price of the most popular brand of gasoline – Ai-80 – has increased from 6,800 to 7,000 soums at gas stations owned by Uzbekneftegaz. This was confirmed by the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.
“Yes, we confirm that the price has increased by 200 soums. This is due to the increase in the price of imported gasoline. 60% of gasoline is produced domestically, while 40% is imported. Due to the increase in prices, our prices have also become a little higher,” the company’s press service said.
For information, Uzbekistan started importing Ai-80 gasoline from Russia from January 2023.
It should be recalled that from December 13, 2022 to December 31, 2023, a zero rate of excise tax was applied to AI-80 gasoline, from January 1, 2024, with the end of this preferential period, gasoline of this brand began to be sold at UNG Petro outlets for 6,800 soums.
