Gas chemical complex worth $10 billion to be built in Khorezm
In Khorezm, the President got acquainted with a project to produce trucks with China and other initiatives.
On February 29, Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave a symbolic start to the construction of the Voltalia photovoltaic power plant in the Khorezm region.
On the same day, the President got acquainted with the investment projects that are planned to be implemented in the region. Together with foreign partners, a package of projects worth $1.5 billion has been formed – in mechanical engineering, chemical, food, textile, medical and other industries.
The head of state was presented with 18 initiatives worth a total of $660 million. A project for the production of trucks, the production of nickel sulfate for batteries, glass and glass containers, building materials, paint and varnish products and fabrics are under development.
According to the slide shown in one of the photos, a plant for the production of small trucks is planned to be built with the participation of investors from China and Bulgaria. The project is estimated at $80 million.
In addition, it is planned to build new clinics, hotels, entertainment facilities in the region, and invest in ecotourism and fisheries. The implementation of the projects will create thousands of new jobs, it was noted at the meeting.
This same day, the president held a meeting with the Ministry of Energy and Uzkimyosanoat on the topic of creating a large gas chemical complex. The project is being implemented with the participation of a “large foreign investment company” and is estimated at more than $10 billion.
The future complex will provide jobs for 3 thousand people and will be able to produce 2.5 million tons of products per year. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2028.
