Validity period of limited price for methane at CNG filling stations expires on April 1
A government decree adopted in September 2023 introduced a 6-month limit on the price of methane at gas filling stations not exceeding 3,250 soums. From April 1, this period comes to an end, and the retail price may increase.
Judging by messages on social networks, announcements have appeared at some gas filling stations in Tashkent about increasing methane prices from April 1. It is reported that the price for 1 cubic meter of gas will be 3,800 soums.
By the resolution No. 475 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 15, 2023, measures were taken to keep the maximum retail price of natural gas no higher than 3,250 soums per cubic meter for 6 months. This period ends on April 1.
The press service of the Ministry of Energy told Kun.uz that the ministry and its subordinate organizations cannot interfere in the decision of entrepreneurs to raise prices or not.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, prices at gas stations are not regulated by the state, but are set by entrepreneurs independently.
