Man sentenced for breaking gravestones in a cemetery in Tashkent
A 29-year-old citizen damaged several graves in the cemetery where his father is buried.
The Yangikhayot district criminal court heard a case against a 29-year-old citizen who broke tombstones in a cemetery, the “Millar” program reported.
It turned out that the man broke metal fences and smashed tombstones in the cemetery where his father was buried.
“When my father died, I felt bad. I did these things while drunk because I was so upset. I regret this, I apologize to everyone,” the defendant said.
According to the court verdict, the defendant was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 134 of the Criminal Code (Desecration of a grave), and was sentenced to 3 years of restriction of freedom.
Currently, the citizen’s family has restored nine graves.
