Consulate General: No citizens of Uzbekistan were identified among those killed or injured in the fire in Istanbul
The local prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case, and 5 people have been arrested so far.
Yesterday, April 2, at 13:00 local time (15:00 Tashkent time), 29 people died as a result of a fire that broke out in a 16-story residential building in the Sisli district of Istanbul.
According to the Telegram channel of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, the fire occurred in a nightclub located on the ground floor of the building.
It was reported that the club was closed due to the month of Ramadan and renovation work was underway.
The local prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case, and 5 people have been arrested so far.
All the dead were workers renovating the nightclub. Work is underway to determine their identities.
According to the Consulate General, no Uzbek citizens were identified among the injured or detained.
