SSS thwarts drug trafficking attempts, confiscates 11 kg illicit drugs

The State Security Service has confiscated a total of 11.2 kg of narcotics brought from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

During a rapid operation carried out by the State Security Service in the Namangan region, a Nexia car traveling on the Chortoq-Namangan route was stopped and inspected.

Inspection results revealed 2 kg 47 gr of hashish hidden by a passenger in the car from Chortoq district. It was officially seized under procedural order.

Additionally, 4 kg 942 gr of "hashish intended for future sale was taken from his residence.

A total of 6 kg 989 gr of the narcotics hashish was seized as physical evidence as a result of the operation.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was revealed that the narcotic substances had been previously brought to the Chortoq district by Kyrgyz drug couriers and left in a hidden location.

In a rapid operation carried out in Davlatobod district, a previously convicted individual from Yangikurgan district was caught selling 1 kg 842 gr of hashish for $14,000 to a resident of Namangan city, having received $10,000 of the agreed-upon amount at the time of arrest.

Further investigation revealed that this narcotic substance had been left at a hidden location in the Yangikurgan district by a Kyrgyz courier.

Three citizens from the Urgut district of Samarkand region were apprehended by State Security Service and internal affairs officers while transferring 936 gr of opium brought from Tajikistan to a buyer and receiving the agreed-upon money.

The operation continued, leading to the arrest of their criminal associate from Urgut as well.

Two of the individuals were previously convicted for other crimes.

During a rapid operation by the State Security Service in the Fergana region, a person residing in the city of Kuvasoy was caught after collecting 950 gr of hashish left at a hidden location by a Tajik criminal associate and selling it for $6,000 with deferred payment to a fellow townsman.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was discovered that a citizen from Kuvasoy city was also involved in this narcotic trade and was subsequently arrested.

In another case, a citizen from the city of Kokand was caught selling 492 gr of hashish brought from Tajikistan for 75 million UZS along with the physical evidence.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against all these individuals, and detention as a precautionary measure has been applied.
