Uzbekistan and Hungary discuss issues in field of protecting human rights
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov met with the Commissioner for Human Rights of Hungary Akos Kozma, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
During the meeting, the Hungarian side was provided with detailed information about key reforms in the field of protecting human rights and interests in Uzbekistan. It was especially noted that in recent years, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extensive reforms have been carried out in the country in the field of liberalizing socio-political life and ensuring the rule of law in accordance with the principle of “human interests above all”.
The increased role of national human rights institutions in the effective protection of the rights and freedoms of vulnerable segments of the population, especially women, minors, the elderly and people with disabilities, is emphasized.
The Hungarian side noted with satisfaction the established close cooperation between the ombudsman institutions of the two countries.
Interest was expressed in further strengthening bilateral cooperation, exchanging experiences and holding discussions on current international issues in the field of human rights protection.
