Uzbekistan and Tajikistan plan to simplify transit freight transportation, the press service of the Tajik Ministry of Transport reports.

During the recent visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan, the transport ministers of the two states signed a protocol on amendments and additions to the intergovernmental agreement on international road transport dated March 8, 2018.

For transit cargo transportation, the requirement for permission forms (permissions) is canceled.

The Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan notes that the changes will come into force after ratification of the document by both countries. The abolition of permits will reduce delivery time and reduce the risk of cargo damage.

Today, 1,200 transit cargo transportations are carried out annually across the territory of the two states. Sending goods between Tajikistan and a number of CIS countries and Russia or in transit is carried out without permits.
