Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to boost economic ties with $18 billion in projects
The projects will affect the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and "green" energy sectors.
Today, on May 2, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, who is visiting Uzbekistan to participate in the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, as reported by the president's press service.
The meeting focused on expanding practical cooperation and implementing priority investment projects in Uzbekistan.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of trade-economic and investment partnership. The joint project portfolio has exceeded $30 billion to date.
During the forum, agreements will be signed to implement projects worth $18 billion in "green" energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and pharmaceutical sectors.
It was also noted that there is a need to push forward new projects in information and communication technologies, agriculture, and other areas.
